Grant to give senior center lighting upgrade

FLINT TWP. — Better lighting inside and out is coming to the Senior Citizens Center with help from a grant from Consumer’s Energy, accepted last week by the township board of trustees.

The $1,178.30 grant will supplement a light replacement project costing $10,767.4 at the senior facility, 2071 S. Graham Rd.

Township Supervisor Karyn Miller said the balance of funds are included in this year’s budget.

By unanimous vote, the board agreed to secure the grant fund offer which otherwise expires April 18. The funds are earmarked for the senior center and cannot be transferred to other projects.
